At that time, Willy Otto, founder of Gebrüder OTTO KG and grandfather of our current Managing Director Christoph W. Henkel, laid the foundations for modern waste management. We continue to draw on a wealth of experience that forms the foundation for our success and innovative strength to this day. Our history
Ideas since 1934.
Our company’s roots go back a long way. Willy Otto, the grandfather of our Managing Director Christoph W. Henkel, laid the cornerstone for our current company philosophy when he founded OTTO KG in 1934. Waste management pioneer Willy Otto dedicated his entire life to developing solutions for the prevention, disposal, and recycling of waste.
Forging ahead with a spirit of innovation in 1997.
P. Henkel GmbH was founded in 1997. From there, it developed into an innovative waste management company. The product range also includes the sewer products division, which is a market leader in its area in Germany.
Our history
Sophisticated solutions with added value.
We have focussed on the sale of special garbage and waste containers since 2002. The first among them is the MGB with its spherical base, developed by Willy Otto. The spherical base with its special shape and properties revolutionises the waste disposal sector with efficiency and handling.

While we remain firmly rooted in our Kreuztal site, we are active around the world today, represented by agencies in many countries. We want to offer true added value for people, the environment, and the economy with sustainable solutions, innovative designs, and sophisticated approaches.
